AAP to host Motorsport Development Program modules this November

It was only a few months ago when the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) launched its Motorsport Development Program to train young drivers who dream of becoming successful race car drivers. But that road is about to end as the project hosts its last 2 classes this month.

Done in partnership with the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) and headed by 10-time National Rally Champion Vip Isada, this is where aspiring individuals go through training sessions to develop their skill and discipline for motorsports. The 9-module program cover topics such as driving technique, safety, vehicle dynamics, physical and mental fitness, and race car preparation through classroom lecture and hands-on training.

Module 1: Race Skills
Module 2: The Racing Mind
Module 3: Race Safe
Module 4: Vehicle Dynamics
Module 5: Race Car Prep
Module 6: Car Handling
Module 7: Race Craft
Module 8: Fit to Race
Module 9: Race Show

If we remember it correctly, there has now been 3 training classes held in Manila, Bacolod, and Cebu for Module 1. And this month, AAP is hosting the last 2 before they move on to Module 2. However, what we didn’t know at the beginning was that only graduates of the previous module can participate in the next module. So, this is your last chance.

The Motorsport Development Program will in Davao on November 14 at the Sta. Lucia Realty Project, Riverfront Corporate Center, Ma-A, Davao City. Then, it’ll return to the Mega Tent Libis in Quezon City on November 20.

As always, registration starts at 7:30 AM, followed by training at 8:00 AM, and ends at 5:00 PM. Lunch and a Motorsport Development Program T-shirt will be provided to all participants, but please bring your own car if possible.

The Motorsport Development Program “fully subsidized” (otherwise known as free) is open to participants aged 16 to 19 years old, who are physically fit and posses a ‘champion’s attitude’. Do note that you need to have a valid Philippine Driver’s License and a Letter of Consent from your parent/guardian to join. Better yet, the organizers strongly advise that participants bring along their dads also to undergo training and proper guidance.

If you’re already 20 years old and above, you can still join with a fee of P2,000.
