ERacing GP SEA organizes online series just for the Philippines

Coming off the success of their ‘Global Edition’ championship, ERacing GP SEA (ERGP SEA) is now diversifying into pocket regional events with hopes of discovering new talent from individual territories. Drivers from Malaysia and Singapore will be mixed in together in their ‘Causeway Edition’, but we here in the Philippines are a bit more special.

We’re getting our very own ‘ERacing GP SEA: Philippines Edition’ – a series which will run for 4 rounds, over 4 weeks, every Friday starting this 24th of April 2020.

As the event name suggests, it’s exclusive for sim racers based in the Philippines. There will be 2 separate categories (and grids) for Pro Class and Am Class drivers, ensuring that newbies won’t get massacred by more seasoned drivers. And so that anyone with a PC and gaming wheel can join the online series, the software, cars, and tracks used in the series are all FREE-TO-DOWNLOAD.

ERGP SEA runs all their events using the RaceRoom Racing Experience, which can be downloaded at www.RaceRoom.com.

Everyone racing in the ‘Philippines Edition’ must then drive the Aquila CR1 Sports GT cup car, which as you guessed it, is free to use in the game. Likewise, the tracks are free as well and will shuffle between the Sepang International Circuit, Raceroom Raceway Grand Prix, and Portimao Grand Prix.

ERGP SEA Philippines Edition

ERacing GP SEA: Philippines Edition Race Schedule
Round 1 | April 24 (Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia)
Round 2 | May 1 (Raceroom Raceway Grand Prix)
Round 3 | May 8 (Portimao Grand Prix)
Round 4 | May 15 (Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia)

Each round can accommodate up to 24 drivers per class, which sums up to 48 drivers in total. However, you still need to qualify through the RaceRoom Leaderboard in order to earn a spot for every week’s race. Also note that events are held every Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM with 2x 15 minute races per class. So unless you’re a student, unemployed, or have a flexible work schedule, it’s totally up to you how you’ll fit it in your schedule once the ECQ is over.

Despite everything being thrown in for free, ERGP SEA does offer prizes for race winners. They’re giving away VRP (Virtual Race Points) for podium finishes, which can then be used to buy cars and tracks within RaceRoom. Whoever wins the Pro Class Championship at the end of the ‘Philippines Edition’ series will also score a Razer Phone 2 gaming smartphone, which is worth at least P25,000 today.
