Funds raised by 'Race for Frontliners' online sim competition now over ₱200,000

Ever since Tuason Racing and Phoenix Pulse began their online sim competition ‘Race for Frontliners’, they’ve managed to go through 4 events, 200+ drivers, with 20+ sets of winners so far. But more importantly, they’re now able to raise ₱236,506 (at the very least) donated to our local frontliners who help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

All events are hosted using GT Sport on the Sony PlayStation 4 with a different track and vehicle per round. The organizers then pledge one (1) Family Mart food pack for every competitor who enters the virtual race.

The very first beneficiary of ‘Race for Frontliners’ were the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) and Asian Hospital Medical Center (AHMC) in Muntinlupa with nearly ₱60,000 in donation. They then helped out the PNP Maritime Group and Philippine Coast Guard next, this time with total funds reaching at ₱102,400.

With more pledges and donations pouring in from partners, the tally shot up to ₱236,506 by Round 3. Proceeds of that went to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil Relations Service and 525th Engineer Combat Battalion of the Philippine Army. The latest on their list were the frontliners from the Philippine General Hospital and Victoriano Luna General Hospital with still an undisclosed amount gathered from Round 4.

If you still haven’t given it a shot, the final event of ‘Race for Frontliners’ is scheduled on June 8 where you don’t only get to go racing, but also help a frontliner in the Philippines. Or you can also donate straight to the STET-VIP Foundation through the their PayPal account al@stetvip.org

‘Race for Fronliners’ is spearheaded by Phoenix Pulse and supported by from LG Electronics Philippines, PC Express, FamilyMart, OMP, and Toplift, with its partner organizations Automobile Association Philippines (AAP), Ribbon Arc, Seven Star Garage, and Sim Racing Ph (SRPh), withs media partners C! Magazine, Philippine Daily Inquirer, AutoCar, AutoDeal, Time Attack Manila, and WheelsPH.
