There’s no need to turn to grey market imports if you want to get your hands on the latest 2021 Ford Bronco. This trail-ready 4×4 radio-controlled car is now available from Tamiya so you can go off-roading anytime, anywhere. And by that we mean you can drive this scaled version around your living room, garden, dirt trail, or parking lot and even take it with you on your family vacation.
This pint-sized Bronco sits on Tamiya’s cross-country CC-02 chassis, which means it’s meant to go off-roading. It has a ladder frame chassis just like the real deal, 4-wheel-drive just like the real deal, and locking differentials just like the real deal. There are also oil dampers on all corners, a 4-link rigid suspension front-and-back, and block pattern tires to allow it crawl over any terrain or obstacles be it dirt, rocks, or household furniture.
Tamiya’s 1/10 scale RC replica faithfully depicts the First Edition Ford Bronco in 2-door guise. The body is moulded out of clear polycarbonate so you can paint it in whatever shade that you want. Those side mirrors, spare tire cover, and ultra-realistic roof rack, on the other hand, are made out of strong ABS plastic.
Do note that this is an assembly kit and basic tools are required to put it together. While the 540 sized motor and electronic speed controller (ESC) are included in the box, you’ll have to supply your own radio transmitter, battery, and charger.
If you want one, Philippine residents can reach out to Tamiya’s official distributor Lil’s Hobby Center. You can also get an inside look how these kits are manufactured in our tour of the Tamiya Factory in Cebu.
