Access Plus Racing down to one entry as PSBK heads to CIS for Round 3

Timothy Joseph “TJ” Alberto will have to go at it alone at this weekend’s Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK) at the Clark International Speedway (CIS). With a 4 point lead, he continues his title defense as his younger brother Troy continues his recovery from an injury suffered at the previous round.

Riding the #77 Ducati Panigale V4, TJ has finished on the podium in all race starts this 2024 so far. He accomplished a clean sweep at the season opener in BRC, followed by a pair of 2nd places in Round 2 on the same circuit. This was aided by Shell Advance’s fully synthetic oil that gives ultimate performance and protection.

Looking at the team’s track record, the 4.189 km circuit has always been Access Plus Racing’s strong suit. The team has also spent weeks testing in preparation for the race weekend and the results have been promising.

Troy Alberto, on the other hand, has shown a lot of promise since the start of the season. Moving back to the country after competing overseas, he delivered strong results in Round 1 with a 3rd and 2nd. However, while fighting position at the following round, Troy had a big crash on lap 6 of the race and suffered a fractured vertebrae. This forces Troy to miss this weekend’s race as he makes a full recovery.

The 2024 season moves to the Clark International Speedway (CIS) with Qualifying on Saturday (July 6) and both Races on Sunday (July 7).

TJ Alberto, #77: “We had good tests last week, which gives us confidence ahead of this weekend. We’ve also had a good record at Clark every time we race there and we plan on maintaining the momentum into Round 3. The goal is to keep my position at the top of the championship table as I defend my title. It’s just unfortunate that Troy won’t be able to race alongside me as he recovers from his injury.”

Troy Alberto, #69: “Sadly, I’ll be watching from the sidelines this weekend as I’m still recovering from my crash in Round 2. Would’ve loved to join TJ on the grid, but I’m just thankful that my injuries aren’t too bad and I’m recovering well. I wish the team the best and I hope to be back as soon as possible. Special thanks to my LS2 helmet and Macna suit from Motoworld that kept me safe, and of course to God for watching over me.”

Toti Alberto, Team Principal: “As always, I pray for good results and a safe race for our riders. TJ will have to ride by himself this weekend while Troy watches from behind the pit wall with the rest of the team. We hope for a fair fight as the championship heats up and looking forward to another strong weekend with Access Plus Racing.”

Access Plus Racing is sponsored by Ducati Philippines, Shell Advance, DID, Aella, Extreme Components, Macbeth, Motoworld, Sprint Filter, Bremo, and Öhlins Racing.
