Are you brave enough to take on the Petron x 8 Oras ng Pilipinas?

There’s no denying that the 8 Oras ng Pilipinas, though is not the longest, is the pinnacle endurance race in the country. The much-awaited annual event brings together the best teams, cars, and drivers so they can settle the score on track on who’s the quickest racing 480 minutes non-stop.

Presented by Petron Corporation, the 2018 edition will go green this coming December 1/2 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) and they’re now accepting entries.

Teams can opt to run in any of the 5 categories. The fastest guys compete in the RP Class which is open to all race-prepped machines. A tier below are the FM classes, or factory-modified, which are required to run with a complete OEM interior, A/C system, and windows amongst other things. FM-1 is for cars with more than 150 hp, FM-2 for those with between 100 to 150 hp, and FM-3 with 100 hp or less. Lastly, the Manufacturer’s Cup is exclusive for showroom stock vehicles with no modifications except for safety equipment.

All entries must have between 2 to 6 drivers each who will share driving duties throughout the 8 hour race. This includes pit stops, driver swaps, tire changes, and re-fueling with Petron Blaze 100 Euro 6.

As benchmark, the Formula V1 of Tuason Racing School (TRS) won last year’s event by completing 191 laps and covering 800 km. It beat 30 other entries, with 114 drivers, in 6 categories to the chequered flag.
