Over the last 4 endurance races, AutoPerformance Motorsport has collected 2 class wins, 4 podium finishes, and 2 overall titles including the 12 Hour Kalayaan Cup last June. But one milestone has long eluded the team – winning the 8 Oras ng Pilipinas. Back with their battle-tested BMW E36 M3, AutoPerformance Victor Hardware Motorsport is hoping that third time’s the charm as it attempts to take the overall victory at the 8-hour classic this December 1/2.
The driver lineup for this event is comprised of team principal Francis Aguila, decorated drivers George Apacible and Stefan Ramirez, and ’14 Winds Formula Champion Sung Joon Park. EZ Ligaya of Aggressive Line will be at the helm as team manager, while Jun Magno of Debest Autofix is their race engineer.
Also returning for racing duty is AutoPerformance Motorsport’s BMW E36 M3.
Using the same 3.0L S50 motorsport-derived engine, the car has undergone continuous development over the last 5 years to become a full-fledged endurance racer. The powerful M engine is kept in perfect condition by Liqui Moly lubricants. The car, on the other hand, is outfitted with Bilstein and H&R suspension, Brembo brakes with special racing pads, and 17-inch Rota Grid wheels. There’s also an FIA-spec roll cage, Sabelt race seat and harness, and a custom fire suppression system all built to international safety standards.
The 9th edition of the Petron x 8 Oras ng Pilipinas gets the green light at exactly 8:30 AM on Sunday at the Clark International Speedway. AutoPerformance Victor Hardware Motorsport will be aiming to reach the chequered flag 1st in a full grid of 34 cars.
