Daryl DeLeon Taylor called up for Valour Racing's GB4 entry at Donington

16-year-old Daryl DeLeon Taylor is having to do double duty in the 2022 season. Whilst still fighting for the championship in the Radical SR1 Cup, he’s been called up by his team Valour Racing to drive the team’s entry in the GB4 Championship this weekend.

The Filipino-British driver just graduated from karting to cars last year and is now on his first full season in the SR1 Cup. He has already won 2 out of the 4 races this year with Valour Racing and currently sits 2nd overall in the points. His outright pace and experience makes him an obvious candidate when the Corby-based team announced their 2-car entry in the single-seater series earlier in the month.

Valour Racing joins the 7 other teams in the GB4 Championship as the 2022 season reaches its halfway point at Donington Park. Daryl and his teammate Danny Harrison, who are both making their single-seater debut, then complete the 13-car grid.

Round 4 of the 2022 GB4 Championship will share the track with the British GT Championship. There will be 3 test sessions on Friday (May 27), followed by Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday (May 28). The race weekend wraps up with Race 2 on Sunday morning (May 29) and Race 3 in the afternoon. All races will be shown via livestream on MSV TV.

Daryl DeLeon Taylor: “I can’t wait to get going at Donington this weekend and make my single-seater debut in GB4 with Valour Racing. I’ve been looking to race single-seaters throughout my career, and to finally get the opportunity is so exciting. To do so with Valour is great too, we’ve been working together since the start of the year, our previous track record at Donington is excellent so it’s great to be starting there. We’ll need to build up our experience together in testing and see where we are come qualifying.”

Rhys Terry, Valour Racing Team Manager: “We’re really pleased to confirm Daryl and Danny in our GB4 team for Donington Park. We know both drivers well, Daryl has been really strong with us in Radical SR1s this year and his previous form at Donington is very promising. I also worked with Danny in karting around a decade ago, so it’s great to be working with him again in a new discipline. Both are new to single-seaters, as is the team, so we’ve got some thorough run plans to do in testing, but we’re looking forward to mixing with the championship’s established teams and drivers and seeing how we compare from the off.”

Daryl DeLeon Taylor is supported by Train Maintenance Services (TMS).
