Eduardo Coseteng to race BMW M4 in ADAC GT Masters with Schubert Motorsport

Schubert Motorsport has confirmed that it’s entering a BMW M4 GT3 in the ADAC GT Masters this 2023 with 2 young driver pairings. The first is last year’s Pirelli Junior class champion Ben Green who is then being joined by Eduardo Coseteng from the Philippines.

Eduardo spent the last 2 seasons in the British F4 Championship where he achieved 2 podiums, 1 pole position, and 2 fastest race laps on his rookie year. He then celebrated his first race victory at the finale in Brands Hatch last October. Switching from single seaters, his first outing in sports car racing came in December where he made his debut at the Gulf 12 Hours at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The Filipino driver and his teammates would finish 6th in the Pro-Am division with a BMW M4 GT3.

The 19-year-old will now be racing full-time in the ADAC GT Masters and contest in all 6 events.

His teammate is British driver Ben Green who is returning with Schubert Motorsport after a successful 2022 season. With 8 years of experience in touring and sports cars, Ben has found successes in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup, British GT Championship, DTM Trophy, and most recently in the ADAC GT Masters. He will be looking to defend his title in the division for drives up to 25 years of age as he shared the #20 BMW M4 GT3 with Eduardo.

The BMW M Motorsport Team from Oschersleben is scheduled to join the pre-season test this week at Hockenheimring ahead of the opening event on June 9/11 held at the same track. The championship then heads to the Norisring street circuit in July, which will be the series’ first visit to the venue in 15 years. Succeeding races will take place on the Nürburgring Sprint Circuit, Sachsenring, Red Bull Ring, and Hockenheimring ’til October.

Each race weekend traditionally consists of 2x 60-minute races which includes a pitstop window and driver change.

Since the series debut in 2010, Schubert Motorsport has developed into one of the most successful teams in the ADAC GT Masters with 13 victories. Team founder Torsten Schubert would like to build on this success with a promising young driver pairing in the coming season.

Eduardo Coseteng: “Moving to the ADAC GT Masters is an important step in my career. It is one of the most competitive championships in GT racing and gives me the opportunity to compete at a high level and to gain experience in sports cars. My goal is to learn as much as possible and to continuously improve over the course of the season. Schubert Motorsport is the perfect team for this challenge. The organization works at the highest level and the successes and long history speak for themselves. With this crew and the BMW M4 GT3 we have a strong package and I’m looking forward to working together.”

Marcel Schmidt, Team Manager: “He knows the team and as a young driver with great potential, Eduardo will certainly benefit from it. It’s obviously an apprenticeship for him, but his performance in Formula 4 has been impressive and we’re expecting a steep form curve.”

Eduardo Coseteng is supported by RSA Motors Libis, Petron Corporation, and Autoplus Sports.
