Think of it as our bite-sized version of Le Mans where the best teams in the country race 8 hours non-stop. This is the annual GT Radial x Philippine Endurance Challenge (PEC) and it’s now accepting entries for the 2016 race.
Each team must consist of 2 to 6 drivers, a pit crew, and a machine that could last 480 minutes in competition rain or shine. They can enter any of PEC’s 4 classes which are the RP Class for full blown race cars, FM-1 for road cars with more than 150 whp, FM-2 for cars with less than 150 whp, and the Manufacturer’s Cup for showroom stock cars. Points will then be awarded for teams with more than 2 entries.
Aside from the required safety equipment and safety gear, all competing vehicles in the PEC must also run on GT Radial tires. Hit the link for the full Sporting & Technical Regulations rule book.
The 2016 GT Radial x Philippine Endurance Challenge will take place from December 3 to 4 at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC). Practice will be on Saturday while the race proper will begin at 8:30 AM on Sunday.
UPDATE (15-November-2016): The organizers have announced a change in venue moving the 8-hour race to the Clark International Speedway (CIS). All other details such as race schedule and date, however, remain unchanged.
If you’re entering a team, there’s an early bird discount of P25,000/entry until November 4, 2016. After that, the entry fee goes back to P30,000. This covers Race Pack Stickers, Dyno at Staging Lanes, a Paddock for race day, and of course a slot on the grid.
