AAP resumes Motorsport Development Program in April 2016

Now that the 2016 motorsport season is in full swing, the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) is once again searching for champions of the future. This is the Motorsport Development Program (MDP).

Done in partnership with the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA), the grassroots training platform is designed specifically for young drivers who want to enter motorsports. Here, young male and female students get to hone their skill and discipline for the sport. All this is done under the watchful eye of 10-time National Rally Champion Vip Isada and his team. If everything checks out, the MDP should be able to help them achieve their dream of becoming future race car drivers.

The 9-module program cover topics such as driving technique, safety, physical and mental fitness, and race car preparation through classroom lecture and hands-on training. And this coming April 2, 2016 the MDP will be hosting their first ever module of the year, Module 1: Race Skills.

Held at the Mega Tent Libis in Quezon City, registration begins at 7:30 AM, followed by training at 8:00 AM, and ends at 5:00 PM. Lunch and a Motorsport Development Program T-shirt will be provided to all participants, but please bring your own car if possible.

The MDP is ‘fully subsidized’ (otherwise known as free) for participants aged 16 to 19 years old, who are physically fit and posses a ‘champion’s attitude’. Do note that you need to have a valid Philippine Driver’s License and a Letter of Consent from your parent/guardian to join. Better yet, the organizers strongly advise that participants bring along their dads also to undergo training and proper guidance.

If you’re already 20 years old and above, you can still join for a fee of P2,000.
