Fuel Autotek Philippines, who happens to the be distributor of Deestone Tires in the Philippines, did something really special. They supported the Philippine Team when it entered the Malaysian Grand Finals of the Rainforest Challenge (RFC) late last year.
In this strategic partnership, Fuel Autotek Ph supplied the Philippine RFC Team’s support crew vehicles with Deestone Mud Crawler tires. These were used on a Land Rover Discovery and Land Rover Defender throughout the event that lasted from November 25 to December 5, 2017. The support crew carried vital supplies, vehicle parts, and other necessities for the Philippine RFC Team’s race vehicles. And they did so while traversing the tough Malaysian jungle to get to each special stage.
If you don’t know what the RFC is, it’s a 4×4 competition that takes competitors through challenging terrain in the jungle. There they need to overcome mud, rain, humidity, and river crossings, plus have enough supplies to last several days. The RFC is so harsh that only about 50% of the entries reach the finish and is revered as one of the toughest races in the world.
It was first launched in Malaysia in ’97 and has now expanded into regional RFC events, which includes the RFC Philippines. Fuel Autotek Ph also provided tire technical training and assistance in the local event when it was held last August in Pampanga.
