KCMG to run 2x Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s in Blancpain GT Series Asia

OMGTR!!! We just found out that KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) is ditching their Audi R8 LMS’ for the coming 2018 season of the Blancpain GT Series Asia. That’s because they have a new toy – a brand spanking new pair of GT-R NISMO GT3s straight from Nissan. And they’ll be running the latest 2018-spec machinery throughout the 12-race calendar as part of an “exclusive new partnership” with the Japanese manufacturer.

Woohoo!

This will be the very first time a GT-R, or anything to come out of Nissan for that matter, to enter the Asian championship. That means KCMG’s No. 18 and 23 machines will have the huge task of proving themselves against a field of Audis, Lamborghinis, and Porsches.

No sweat then.

Expect KCMG to announce its driver lineup in the coming days.

Ryuji Doi, KCMG Head of Motorsport: “I’m delighted to share this exciting news to everyone and we’re especially thrilled to be the exclusive team to unleash the new Godzilla in Blancpain GT Series Asia. It is such a massive honor for KCMG and we would like to thank NISMO for extending their confidence and trust in us. We are preparing a strong driver line-up, backed by a team of engineers and mechanics who have helped us in our successful three-year campaign in WEC, Le Mans and Blancpain GT Series Asia. With a strong package and a formidable team, we’re confident that we’re in for a top season ahead.”
