What you need to know to watch Formula 4 SEA in Clark International Speedway

It’s definitely happening. For the first time in history, Clark International Speedway (CIS) is hosting an FIA-certified event this October 15/16. Formula 4 South East Asia Championship (F4 SEA) will stage the second event in its inaugural 2016/2017 season and here’s how you can be part of Philippine motorsports history.

Competitors
The current grid consists of 10 drivers from around the region. But that’s about to get a lot bigger with our local recruits joining the line up.

16-year old Gabriel Tayao Cabrera will be making the switch from go karts to single seaters as he pilots the No. 51 car. Also do keep an eye on brothers Sam and Benjamin Grimes in the No. 16 and 77 machines, respectively. Then, there are the more senior drivers Angie Mead King and Paolo Rodriguez who will try to keep up with the youngsters on the grid.

Altogether, there might be as many as 21 competitors this weekend driving identical Formula 4 machines prepared by Meritus GP.

Formula 4 SEA Race Schedule
After making its first stop at the Sepang International Circuit last August, this will be Formula 4 SEA’s second event of the season. It’s going to be the first time the series will run on a counter-clockwise circuit and will feature 6 races over the weekend. Petron Corporation has also signed up to be the official fuel supplier of the event, so don’t forget to thank them for making this possible.

There will also be other support races sharing the track with Formula 4 SEA this weekend. This includes the Philippine GT Championship, Philminiracers Classic Mini, Classic Aspirated Cup, and Sparco Cup.

03:55 PM | Race 2 (13 laps)

01:25 PM | Race 5 (10 laps)
04:00 PM | Race 6 (13 laps)

Admissions
The best way to watch the Formula 4 SEA race this weekend is to watch it live. Entrance is FREE on Saturday (October 15) and P60 / person on Sunday (October 16). Tickets cannot be bought in advance and will be available at the gate. If you decide to bring your own vehicle, parking is P200 / day.

First times take note. The Clark International Speedway can either be very hot, very wet, or both. Bring sunblock and an umbrella. While drinks and food might be available on site, we highly suggest you bring your own.
