The SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines, the country’s fastest race car series, has now announced its second season that will kick off this July.
With official fuel partner SEAOIL Philippines Inc., a total of 5 events are lined up for the upcoming 2023 championship. After the curtain raiser at the Clark International Speedway (CIS), the series will move to the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) in September before returning to Clark for back-to-back rounds in October and November. Finally, the season will culminate with a 2 Hour Endurance on the 25th of November.
What’s new for 2023 is that the series is now accredited as a National-level championship by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP). It will once again feature a strong 10-car grid of Radical SR1s that feature a carbon-steel space frame chassis covered with a high downforce, lightweight fiberglass body. A mid-mounted 182 bhp RPE 1340cc racing-spec engine powers the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. Because it’s so simple and lightweight, the SR1 is able to provide the ultimate driving experience battling wheel-to-wheel in a cost-effect manner.
Like in the previous year, the roster of drivers come from diverse backgrounds from rookies, gentlemen drivers, to professionals.

“We are thrilled to return as the title sponsor of Radical Challenge Philippines for 2023. SEAOIL’s world class Extreme 97 Octane fuel will once again power the fastest racing series in the country. We will continue providing the same brand of ‘Alagang SEAOIL’ on the track, as we have been giving to every Filipino motorist who fills up in our stations. We hope to see everyone at the track!” shared Edward Cruz, SEAOIL Philippines Inc. Head of B2C Segment Marketing.
SEAOIL Philippines, Inc. has been a key pillar to the success of the Radical Challenge Philippines’ inaugural season. Records were broken, new fastest laps were set, and limits were conquered on track. With a newfound vigor in 2023, the championship is ready to break even more records and take racing a step higher.
“The partnership with SEAOIL Philippines is a huge milestone as we continue to push the development of motorsports in the country. Our goal is to be here long term and SEAOIL shares that value as we continue to work together for the next three years, solidifying Radical Challenge Philippines as the stepping stone for racing drivers in the Philippines,” said Marlon Stockinger, Radical Cars Philippines Motorsports Director.
Each round on the calendar follows a three-day format that consists of Free Practice on Friday, Qualifying and Race 1 on Saturday, and finally Race 2 and 3 on Sunday. Sprint races are 30 minutes in length start-to-finish, while a new 2 Hour Endurance has been added in 2023 that will see multiple driver changes and pit stops.
