Apart from organizing races, the people behind Super Sprint (SS) also provide coaching to their participants during events. But in order to cater to more drivers and cover more ground, they’ve decided to host their first-ever clinic last March 1 on the basics of sport driving.
Held at the BFCT Marikina East Terminal, the objective of the 1-day gathering was to introduce and hone each participant’s driving skill and improve their run times. This is inline with the group’s goal to help get new drivers into motorsports. Proceedings began with a brief classroom lesson, followed by open practice, an FAQ session, and a track walk. This allowed Super Sprint’s team of instructors to carefully gauge each driver’s progress and give personalized lessons or tips.
The clinic was also equipped with a wireless timing system, so drivers can track their progress and monitor their run times as the day progressed. A target time was given to each student at the start, which all proudly achieved or surpassed at the end.
The event was complete with medics, marshals, and most amenities found in a standard race setup to ensure safety and provided maximum value to participants. And while the team was focused on teaching, Super Sprint was able to maintain a fun and friendly atmosphere to promote camaraderie between the instructors and drivers.
