Vios Cup is racing at the Alabang Street Circuit this May

Now on its 3rd season, the Vios Cup has literally gone places. They’ve taken their “Waku-Doki” motorsport festival to the streets of Fort Bonifacio, SM Mall of Asia, Cebu, and now in Filinvest City, Alabang.

Round 2 of the 2016 season is slated this May 21/22 where they’ll close down part of the business district and turn it into a street circuit. The non-permanent race track snakes its way through Promenade Ave, Spectrum Midway, Commerce Ave, ASEAN Drive, Parkway Street, and Filinvest Ave for a full 2.6 km (approx.) lap. It features 10 corners, 2 chicanes, and a 400 m stretch.

The race weekend will feature 52 racers, composed of 44 drivers and 8 celebrities, compete in the Super Sporting Class, Sporting Class, and Promotional Class.

Names to watch out for are Allan Uy, Andres Calma, Estefano Rivera, and Daniel Miranda who consistently finished in the Top 5 of the Super Sporting Class. Meanwhile, expect Paolo Rodriguez, Miko Maristela, Sean Velasco, and Miguel Diaz fight for the lead in the Sporting Class. But if you’re just in it for showbiz, the list of celebrity drivers include Arci Muñoz, Jericho Rosales, Sam YG, Joyce Pring, Phoemela Baranda, Fabio Ide, and Jinno Rufino.

Oh, there’s also going to be a special guest from Japan, someone they call Keiichi Tsuchiya.

On Saturday (May 21), FP1 starts at 8:10 AM followed by FP2 at 10:20 AM, then qualifying at 2:20 PM. All the action, however, will come on Sunday (May 22). Gates open at 10:00 AM with Race 3 happening at 11:00 AM and Race 4 at 3:00 PM.

The 2016 Vios Cup is in partnership with Bridgestone and Rota, supported by Motul, Brembo, Denso, AVT, OMP, Tuason Racing, and Filinvest Land.
