Mitsubishi Ph now taking reservations for new Xpander before launch in May

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) is trying to jump the gun on the all-new Avanza’s launch as they start pre-selling their own affordable 7-seat people carrier. While deliveries won’t happen ’til May, eager customers can now put down a reservation on the refreshed Mitsubishi Xpander.

A quick Google search will reveal the changes brought about by this mid-lifecycle refresh. Easiest to spot are the new ‘T-Shape’ head lights and tail lights, redesigned lower front bumper, and larger 17-inch wheels. But the biggest difference can be found on the inside after Mitsubishi opted to change the whole dashboard that now houses a better-looking 7-inch infotainment system. It’s also nice that they’ve addressed the ride comfort with the addition of ‘high performance valves’ in the suspension.

“Came as no surprise to us that the Xpander helped MMPC deliver a strong retail performance. It checks all the boxes when it comes to the qualities that our customers look and yearn for in an MPV. Aside from local recognition, it continuously garners awards from different parts of the world which is a testament to how outstanding it really is,” according to MMPC President and CEO, Takeshi Hara. “These were part of the inspiration for the newest Xpander, which will actually be already offered in advance to our Filipino customers. But it doesn’t just end there, we also have a special pre-selling treat in store before the month ends.”

First introduced in 2018, the Xpander has since become MMPC’s best-selling model in the country and accounted for 54.40% of the market share in its category last year. Hopefully, the new model will be able to sustain or better those numbers when sales begin in May 2022.

The new Mitsubishi Xpander will have a starting price of P1,030,000 and available in 5 colors.
