21,002 new cars in the Philippines were sold online in 2018 - AutoDeal

Of the 400,000+ brand new cars sold in the Philippines last year, 21,002 were bought online. Or more specifically, they were purchased through AutoDeal.com.ph. That roughy means 1 out of every 20 cars sold in 2018 was made through the country’s #1 automotive marketplace.

This translates to a 39.5% sales increase as compared to what they achieved in 2017. They did this despite a downturn in the automotive industry last year. Imagine that.

Propelling the double digit growth was a 54% increase in AutoDeal.com.ph’s site traffic which resulted in more than 30 million site visits. Also, 10.5% of all the customers who inquired through AutoDeal eventually went on to purchase a new car in 2018 alone.

AutoDeal’s new car sales data was collated from several channels. The main source is confirmed purchases remitted by dealers through AutoDeal’s online Lead Management System (LMS)* while successful buyers shared their success stories directly to AutoDeal.

“We continue to invest heavily in creating the best environment for the car-buyers in the Philippines,” states AutoDeal co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Daniel M. Scott. “Our commitment remains to provide the local car buying market a hassle-free and simple method to go about in making his purchase. Our continued enhancement in dealer technology is built with the sole purpose of helping dealers to manage and realize the value of buyers who now prefer to shop this way.”

Aside from vehicle sales, increased awareness and competition amongst the top automotive brands helped propel the company’s 30% revenue growth in 2018. One main factor is the surge in advertisers as the platform only it can deliver real-world tangible sales results rather than just impressions and clicks that other sites traditionally offer.

“We’re working with more car brands and dealers than ever before,” added Scott. “Less consumers in the market means that there’s now a more expanded interest in providing better service not just on the showroom floor, but also online.”
