At P2.98-million a piece, it only took Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) a few days to sell all 100 examples of the Civic Type R last year. Some of those ended up in personal collections, a few found their way into track days, and a handful resellers even passed them on for almost double the sticker price.
Obviously, we wanted more and HCPI once again delivers.
They’ve just announced that a new batch of Honda Civic Type Rs are coming to the Philippines. Limited to another 100 units, it’ll be available in Championship White, Rallye Red, and new for 2018, Polished Metal Metallic. Every single one will come with a 2.0L VTEC Turbo delivering 310 hp and 400 Nm of torque, 6-speed manual transmission, limited-slip diff, 350 mm 4-piston Brembo brakes, adaptive dampers, and with a potent driver, be able to lap the Nürburgring Nordschelife in 7 mins 43.8 secs.
Those who are dying to get their hands on one can visit any of the 37 Honda car dealerships nationwide. They’ll start to take orders on May 11, 2018 and deliveries should arrive by October 2018.
HCPI, however, has yet to announce the new price of the Honda Civic Type R.
