Capping off an unforgettable season, the AISIN Super Sprint Series returned to Parklinks Ayala in Libis, Quezon City for the 5th and final round of 2023. The event once again attracted both amateur and seasoned drivers from around the Metro for a day of speed, skill and precision last 17th of September.
The day was packed with excitement as competitors pushed the limits not just of their cars, but also of their own abilities. They had to navigate a tight, technical course with a special 540-degree turn that challenged even the veterans. Adding to the level of difficulty was the unpredictable weather that forced the drivers to adapt to both wet and dry conditions.
As the event went on, the times gradually tumbled as each competitor chased after their own personal records.
With the sun setting in the distance, Makki Fragrante in the yellow #133 Honda Civic EG emerged on top in the Prepped Class. His set a blistering 56.926 secs run, which also turned out to be the best time of the day. Boboy Rabe in his ’22 Mercedes AMG A35 once again set the fastest time in the Intermediate Class and stopped the clock at 59.127 secs. Meanwhile, Marvin Matira in the #17 red Toyota Yaris shined amongst the Amateur drivers with a time of 61.979 secs. Lastly, John Michael Law who set a 65.656 secs run topped all of the Street Class entries.
While the curtains finally close on the 2023 AISIN Super Sprint Series, it also welcomed a new batch of aspiring racers who have taken their first step into motorsports and are expected to further hone their skill in future events. The passion and dedication of the Super Sprint team also promises an even bigger and more exciting 2024 season that will cater to all types of drivers.
