Mazda is celebrating their centenary this year. And to commemorate the historic milestone, they’re building special 100th Anniversary Editions of key models in their line up in limited number. Fortunately, our very own Mazda Philippines managed to get their hands on several examples for the local market – 15 units of the Mazda 3 and 24 units the Mazda MX-5 to be exact.
Both the 100th Anniversary Editions are available exclusively in Snowflake White Pearl with matching seats and floor carpets in red. This pays homage to the brand’s very first passenger car the Mazda R360 Coupe, which was sold in the exact same two-tone retro theme way back in the ’60s.
Another bespoke feature that make them extra special are the Mazda 100th Anniversary Logos embossed on the seat headrests, wheel center caps, and key fob. You’ll even find Mazda 100th Anniversary badges on the front fenders and floor mats to remind everyone how unique your Mazda really is.
“For 100 years now, Mazda has remained true to its promise of making cars that defy convention,” shared Mazda Philippines President and CEO, Steven Tan. “As we celebrate a century of manufacturing, design, and engineering expertise, we also would like to thank our customers by letting them commemorate this milestone with us.
“By making these 100th Anniversary Special Edition models available in the Philippines, Mazda acknowledges the passion of our loyal customers. We wish to thank them for allowing us to create unique products that continue to brighten their lives.”
Aside from the custom paint job and badges, the Mazda 3 100th Anniversary Special Edition is fitted with white interior trims and a high-gloss black set of wheels to set it apart from the other variants. This version is exclusively available as a 2.0L Sportback with a list price of P1.570-million, which is only P60,000 more than the ‘standard’ model. There’s also a Mazdaspeed body kit in the brochure if you’re willing to shell out an extra P75,000.
Meanwhile, the MX-5 100th Anniversary Special Edition has an open-air Soft Top option for P2.335-million with an automatic transmission. Or you can opt for the Retractable Fastback and choose between the 6-speed manual for P2.390-million or auto for P2.480-million.
