Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has recently issued a new recall involving faulty fuel pumps, this time affecting 10,863 units in the country. So if you happen to purchase an Accord, BR-V, City, Civic, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Jazz, or Mobilio between the years 2019 and 2021, this one’s for you.
The suspect part is a fuel pump that may have a defective impeller. In a worst case scenario, affected vehicles won’t be able to start up or stop running completely if the said part were to fail. That’s why it’s imperative that owners immediately check if their Hondas are part of the recall and take it for service.
They’ll be sending out notification letters to the owners of affected vehicles, but you may also check whether your car is part of this program on your own. Simply visit HondaPhil.com/recall and encode your vehicle’s 17-digit Chassis Number of Vehicle Identification Number at the Chassis/VIN search tool. In case you don’t know where to find this info, you can look it up in your dealership’s sales invoice or certificate of registration from the LTO.
If your vehicle is part of the recall, please do your part by scheduling an appointment for the fuel pump service kit replacement with any of the 38 Honda Cars dealerships nationwide. It’ll only take a maximum of two (2) hours to complete and thankfully, the parts and labor for this voluntary recall will be made available FREE OF CHARGE.
