2024 was a banner year for the Automobile Association Philippines’ (AAP) motorsports division, which sanctioned more events than ever before. This was evident in the sheer number of honors presented at the 29th Annual Motorsport Awards, where 64 outstanding men and women were recognized for their achievements over the past year.
11 of them took home multiple awards, with Louie Camacho—son of rally veteran Olson Camacho—receiving the highest number of accolades. He collected seven awards in total, including two Driver of the Year titles for rallycross and rally.
Richard Gallardo was another standout, earning the 2024 Slalom Driver of the Year after clinching both the Front Wheel Drive and Overall crowns in the National Slalom Series.
Also noteworthy is Jesus “Jesse” Antonio Garcia, the 18-year-old talent from Cebu who triumphed in two vastly different disciplines. He secured the GT1 Class championship in Philippine GT behind the wheel of a Mazda MX-5 ND, and also claimed the Formula V1 Challenge title in a single-seater.
