4-time karting champion Miguel Quiñones will be starting the new year strong as he returns to competing on an international level. He has confirmed to enter the 2024 Rotax Max Challenge (RMC) Asia Festival that will see him compete against the best karters in the region at the Sepang International Karting Circuit (SIKC) in Malaysia from January 26/28.
Organized by Rotax kart engine distributor Amprex Racing Services, the RMC Asia Festival is poised to be the most prestigious international karting event in the Southeast Asia region. Over a hundred names have registered so far, all of which will be vying to win their respective categories and secure a coveted entry into the RMC Grand Finals later in the year.
Miguel will be reunited with Double R Motorsports for the one-off outing, whom he has previously raced with on multiple occasions. His last event with the Malaysian squad was during the IAME Asia Finals 2022 where he was inches away from a podium finish before succumbing to 9th place after an unfortunate contact.
The 20-year-old is heading into the much-anticipated event with grounded expectations as his main goal is simply to fight against the big leagues and see where he stacks up. However, he brings with him a ton of experience and a strong momentum from his 2023 campaign. He ends the year as Vice Champion in both the Rotax Max Challenge Philippines’ Senior Category and the SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines.
Hoping to begin 2024 on a high, Miguel will be competing against 30+ other karters in the Rotax 125 Senior Max category and showcase his skills on an international stage with pride.
