Zachary ‘Zach’ David will be donning the colors of R-ace GP once again as he re-unites with the French team for the upcoming Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC). The announcement came several days after the Malta-licensed Filipino driver confirmed his plans for 2024, moving up to Formula Regional after spending a full season in Formula 4.
He shares fond memories racing with the team in F4 UAE last year where he secured his first-ever single seaters victory at Kuwait Motor Town. Zach then went on to secure several more podiums with R-ace GP to finish 5th in the Rookies category. This time they’ll be competing with a much faster Formula Regional car in the condensed 5-round calendar in the Middle East.
Aside from the different machinery, Zach will also have to contend with a more competitive field. 29 drivers has been confirmed for the season opener this 12/14 January at Yas Marina Circuit, which is comprised of several F1 juniors.
His teammates in the R-ace GP garage includes Ferrari junior Tuuka Taponen,FRECA vice-champion Martinius Stenshorne, Mexican driver Carrasquedo, and British F4 race winner Kanato Le.
