ENEOS Super Sprint 2024 heats up with intense Rd 2 at Parklinks

As summer heats up, so does the action at 2024 ENEOS Super Sprint with Round 2 delivering another spectacle of speed, skill, and adrenaline-pumping action. The competition last 17th of March truly did not disappoint with 126 drivers (more than half of which were new) hitting the stage at Parklinks by Ayala Land and Eton Properties in Quezon City.

Organized by Gmet Events in partnership with Japanese oil company ENEOS, best known for its reliable and high quality lubricants, times tumbled as the day progressed with competitors setting ever quicker runs. This is inline with ENEOS Super Sprint’s goal to provide a fun, safe venue for drivers to improve their skill.

Marvin Matira in the #169 Kia Picanto came out on top in the Street 1 category with a 62.186 secs run. Meanwhile, cousins Rich and 11-year-old Marcus Young stole the top spots in Street 2 for Mark Young Racing Team. What’s interesting is how tight the competition is in Amateur Street Modified 1. Mark Lucido, John Fudotan, and Alwyn Mendoza were all within a second of each other with Mark taking 1st place. It was a similar story in Intermediate Street Modified 1. Kim Quimson was able to secure the win by a mere 0.054 secs and beat Nathaniel Mendoza in 2nd. Winning by an even smaller margin, Marvin Matira stopped the clock at 55.366 secs in Intermediate Super Street 2, which was 0.034 secs faster than Glendel Cuento in 2nd.

Worth mentioning is Ashley Aquino of Adrenaline Alliance Motorsport. She dominated all three Ladies Classes despite the increasing number of female drivers joining the series. In a touching show of skill, Iñigo Anton delivered the best time of the day with a 49.819 secs run.

With Round 2 in the books, attention now turns to the next stop on the ENEOS Super Sprint calendar, which takes place on May 19th at the same venue Parklinks by Ayala Land and Eton Properties.
