Rodrigues sweeps SR3, Gan leads SR1 in SEAOIL Radical Challenge Rd 2

It was another dominant weekend for Andre Rodrigues in the 2026 SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines as he swept all three SR3 races during Round 2 at Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC). Meanwhile, JR Gan and Jaime Almario continued their title fight in the SR1 Challenge Cup.

Driving the #30 green-and-black liveried Rodrigues Racing SR3, Rodrigues started the weekend by securing pole position with a 1:38.468 lap in Qualifying. Gan was an impressive 2nd overall in his #17 MRD SR1, followed by Almario and Vedant Agrawal.

JR challenged Rodrigues for the overall lead at the start of Race 1, but the SR3 driver managed to stay ahead. Defending champion Mikey Jordan, making his return to the series, charged to P3 on the opening lap before technical issues forced him to retire after just two laps.

Rodrigues eventually pulled clear to win the 12-lap race, while Gan held off Almario to claim his third SR1 victory of the season as Agrawal completed the class podium.

Race 2 saw another close fight between JR and Almario. Starting from P3, Gan initially took the lead before Almario fought his way ahead. Gan responded with a move down the inside on lap 4 to regain the position.

Meanwhile, Rodrigues started from P4 but steadily closed in on the battling SR1 drivers. He eventually passed both to take the overall lead and secure another win. Gan finished 2nd overall to take another SR1 win, followed by Almario and Agrawal.

The final race took place on a damp track, adding another challenge for the drivers. Rodrigues maintained his lead from the start, while Gan and Almario resumed their fight for SR1 honors.

Almario pressured Gan throughout the opening laps before making his move on lap 6. Gan fought back and regained the class lead three laps later, but his challenge ended when a technical problem caused him to slow down.

Almario capitalized to take his first SR1 victory of the weekend, with Agrawal finishing 2nd in class and Gan salvaging 3rd. Up front, Rodrigues completed another dominant weekend with his sixth consecutive win.

Fueled by race-engineered SEAOIL Extreme-97 fuel, Rodrigues leads the SR3 standings with 158 points. Gan remains in control of the SR1 title race with 125 points, but Almario has closed the gap to 23 points with 102. Agrawal sits 3rd with 51 points.

With FUCHS Lubricants Philippines as the Official Lubricant Partner, the championship now heads back to Clark International Speedway (CIS) for Round 3 on October 16/18. Rodrigues will be looking to keep his unbeaten streak alive, while the increasingly competitive SR1 battle between Gan and Almario promises more action as the season enters its second half.

The 2026 SEAOIL Radical Challenge Philippines is supported by SEAOIL Philippines, Inc., FUCHS Lubricants Philippines, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Tieline, and John Barbers.
