There’s been no shortage of thrills and spills in the 2025 season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) Philippine Cup. Several cars went flying—literally—during Round 2 at the Villar City Street Circuit, while others looked decidedly second-hand after the race. But expect more action and drama as the championship concludes this weekend at the Clark International Speedway (CIS), with class titles on the line.
In the Super Sporting Class, Iñigo Anton’s hopes of a third title were dashed after he missed the previous event due to a schedule conflict with his F4 Southeast Asia campaign. That leaves Russel Cabrera of Toyota Team Cebu in control, carrying a 26.5-point lead after a strong showing at the last round. His closest rivals, Alain Alzona of Toyota Gen San and Bryan Co of R Garage, aren’t backing down as the championship is still within reach.
The Sporting Class is looking like Jesse Garcia’s to lose. The Obengers Racing driver has built a commanding 40-point lead, while Russel Reyes—who suffered a stroke of bad luck last round—still has a mathematical shot. Raymond Culada of R Racing is also in the hunt, sitting 3rd overall. Expect fireworks in the midfield, too, with a massive 17-car grid signed up this season.
Meanwhile, the Novice Class remains wide open. Sim-racer-turned-racer Luis Moreno leads the standings, but Pablo Salapantan and Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) President Masando Hashimoto are within striking distance heading into the final round.
The championship showdown is set for August 8–9, with two sprints and an endurance race deciding the titles. Who’ll walk away as champion?
