DMS kicks off 2026 National Indoor Karting Championship with 47 drivers

The National Indoor Karting Championship (NIKC), the country’s largest professional indoor karting series, gets its 2026 season underway this April.

Organized by Drift Motor Speedway, the championship features three age-based divisions: Bambino (4 to 6 years old), Cadet (7 to 11 years old), and Intermediate (11 years old and above). This year’s 47-driver entry list is composed of both seasoned karters and newcomers, reflecting the continued growth of indoor karting in the Philippines.

NIKC continues to utilize electric karts showcasing the performance of sustainable and alternative energy in motorsports. The series also serves as a cost-effective entry point into the sport, with an emphasis on driver development and structured competition for participants of varying experience levels.

A panel of stewards will oversee the championship, composed of DMS drivers Yuan Gavin Bugayong, Axel Nocom, Michael Andaya, Marcus Lacambra, and Yash Bugayong. All bring experience from both local and international competition, ensuring consistent application of rules throughout the season.

NIKC 2026 will be held across two venues, DMS Ayala Malls Manila Bay and DMS Taytay, with the season opener scheduled on the 19th of April 19 and the finale set for November.

2026 National Indoor Karting Championships (NIKC) Race Calendar
Round 1 | April 19 (DMS Manila Bay)
Round 2 | May 16 (DMS Taytay)
Round 3 | June 28 (DMS Manila Bay)
Round 4 | July 26 (DMS Taytay)

The series will also implement a professional timing system, giving drivers access to lap times and performance data throughout the season.

As the championship grows, NIKC continues to provide a pathway for young and aspiring drivers to gain experience in a competitive setting.
