One round early? TJ Alberto, Access Plus Racing eye 2025 PSBK title at Clark

Round 6 of 7 in the 2025 Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK) returns to familiar ground this weekend, as Access Plus Racing heads back to the Clark International Speedway (CIS) with the championship within reach.

With 9 wins out of 10 races so far, Timothy Joseph “TJ” Alberto currently enjoys a 103-point lead in the Pro Class standings. And with double points on offer in the remaining rounds, the 4-time champion can secure his 5th consecutive Rider of the Year crown this weekend—if he finishes ahead of title rival Marvin Mangulabnan in both races.

While lap records and race wins are always welcome, Access Plus Racing knows it’s the bigger picture that matters. For TJ, it’s about staying focused, staying upright, and banking the results that count.

Troy Alberto, meanwhile, continues to build momentum after delivering three 1-2 finishes alongside his brother. Despite mechanical setbacks and a bit of bad luck earlier in the year, the younger Alberto now sits just 4 points behind Mangulabnan in the fight for 2nd overall.

Armed with their pair of Ducati Panigale V4s and Shell’s fully synthetic oils, Access Plus Racing heads into Round 6 with clear objectives: wrap up the championship with TJ and help Troy climb to 2nd in the standings.

The team has historically performed well at the 4.2 km circuit in Pampanga and aims to make full use of that advantage as the season reaches its climax.

Qualifying takes place on October 4 (Saturday), followed by Race 1 and Race 2 on October 5 (Sunday).

TJ Alberto, #77: “If I can maintain my 103-point lead after Round 6, that should be enough to clinch the title with one round to spare. But of course, anything can happen in racing, so the focus is to stay on two wheels and stay healthy. We’re nearing the end of the season now—we just have to finish the job.

Troy Alberto, #69: “I’m just four points behind Marvin in the championship, so the goal this weekend is to fight hard and close that gap. The weather might play a big role—we could get some wet sessions, which would definitely make things interesting. Either way, I’m giving it everything I’ve got and we’ll see how it plays out.”

Toti Alberto, Team Principal: “We have two interesting battles this weekend. Up front, we’re keeping an eye on TJ as there’s a possibility he could secure the 2025 title if things go our way. Troy, on the other hand, will be fighting hard for 2nd in the championship. It’s a critical round for the whole team, and the goal is to stay focused, stay consistent, and deliver the results we need.”
