Tuason Racing Raceday a success with 150+ supercars, 1NZ Cup, and FV1 on track

It was truly an adrenaline-filled weekend when Tuason Racing hosted its ‘Raceday’ event at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) earlier this month. Not only it boasted a record-breaking attendance of 150 supercars, but also featured the season opener of the 1NZ Cup and Formula 1 Challenge.

The track day provided supercars (and their super owners) an opportunity to stretch its legs around the 3.189 km circuit. Also not to be missed is the special appearance of world-rated Filipino racing driver Zach David, who recently concluded his campaign in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC) with 4th in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, the new 1NZ Cup kicked off its inaugural race that afternoon. Featuring a grid full of Toyota Yaris and Vios, drivers were segregated into 3 different classes. Miguel Hernandez-Abano enjoyed back-to-back victories in Class 1. On the other hand, lady driver Maila Alivia and Jun Cabera scored a win each in Class 2. Lastly, the 1st placers in Class 3 were John Frederick Camus and Gav Quintos.

Now on its 6th season, the 2024 Formula V1 Challenge also officially got underway during the Tuason Racing Race Day. The grid featured karting graduates such as Danzel Waytan, Will Lucas, and Ethan Ong. Race 1 started with a 3-way battle between Jesse Garcia, Danzel Waytan, and Will Lucas, which lasted until lap 7. Danzel unfortunately was sidelined due to a mechanical issue, leaving Jesse and Will to fight it out at the top. In the end, Jesse would cross the finish line in 1st, with Lucas in 2nd, and Bryan Co in 3rd. Danzel later got his payback in Race 2, this time taking the top spot as he raced past Jesse and Ethan to the finish.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the overwhelming success of this event and the incredible turnout of 150 supercars invited by our partners as well,” said JP Tuason, CEO of Tuason Racing. “The addition of the 1NZ and Formula V1 races brought an extra level of excitement to the event, and we are grateful to all the participants, sponsors, and partners who helped make it possible.”

The inclusion of the Supercar Trackday, 1NZ Cup, and Formula V1 Challenge demonstrates Tuason Racing’s ability to provide a diverse range of high-performance driving experiences for enthusiasts of all levels, setting the standard for unforgettable motorsport events.

The Tuason Racing Raceday is presented by Tuason Racing, I & I Automotive Modification, TonCars, and Ceramic Pro powered by GT Radial and Unioil, and supported by Ravenol, OMP, Oasis Home, Rota FASA, Brembo, Toptul, DynoPro, PIAA, Apex, Imprint Customs, Anessa, AAP, and Clark International Speedway.
