Access Plus Racing delivered a championship-winning performance at Round 6 of the 2025 Philippine Superbike Championship (PSBK), held over the weekend at Clark International Speedway (CIS). Not only did the team claim another 1-2-3 finish, but Timothy Joseph “TJ” Alberto also sealed his 5th consecutive PSBK title aboard the Ducati Panigale V4.
Saturday’s Qualifying saw TJ Alberto set the early pace with a 1:48.031 lap to claim pole position. He outpaced closest rival Marvin Mangulabnan by 0.325 secs, while Troy Alberto completed the front row in 3rd—setting the stage for a championship showdown on Sunday.
When the lights went out in Race 1, TJ launched cleanly from pole while Troy slingshotted past Mangulabnan into P2. The Aprilia rider quickly regained the position and began chasing TJ for the lead. With 7 laps to go, Mangulabnan finally got past TJ—only to dramatically crash under braking at Turn 10 moments later.
That handed full control back to Access Plus Racing, with TJ and Troy cruising to the finish in formation. Jan Timbol joined the Alberto brothers on the podium in 3rd, giving the team another all-Ducati, all-Access Plus Racing 1-2-3 finish.
Mangulabnan remounted and salvaged 7th place, but the damage to his championship hopes was done. The result extended TJ’s lead and moved Troy up to 2nd overall in the standings.
With one hand already on the trophy, TJ lined up on the front row again, alongside Troy in P2. Mangulabnan, now starting from P6, charged through the field to join the lead battle early on.
Troy initially led, followed closely by TJ and Mangulabnan. The latter passed TJ and briefly challenged for the lead, but TJ struck back to retake P2, then moved past his younger brother with 3 laps to go to take another comfortable win. The final laps saw a fierce duel between Troy and Mangulabnan for P2 spot, culminating in a photo finish with the Aprilia rider snatching 2nd by just 0.029 secs.
But the bigger victory had already been decided. TJ’s double win was more than enough to secure his 5th straight PSBK Pro Class title. Troy’s consistent results also paid off, as he now holds 2nd in the championship—10 points ahead of Mangulabnan.
The 2025 season concludes on November 22–23, once again at Clark International Speedway. With the pressure off, TJ now shifts focus to helping his younger brother secure the runner-up spot in the championship.
TJ Alberto, #77: “What a rush to clinch my 5th championship a round early. Growing up, I just loved riding and racing—I never imagined I’d reach this level or be one of the best in the country. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s helped me along the way. Race 2 was a real thrill, battling it out with Troy and Marvin. I’m super happy to hit this milestone.”
Troy Alberto, #69: “We made solid progress and were really close to the win in both races. I was about to take 2nd in Race 2 but just ran out of gas in the final few meters. For the last round, it’s all about beating Marvin to finish 2nd in the championship. It won’t be easy, but with the pace we had this weekend, it’s definitely possible.”
Toti Alberto, Team Principal: “Mission accomplished for TJ and Access Plus Racing. Congratulations to him and the entire team on winning his 5th consecutive PSBK title—and we did it with one round to spare. All our hard work has finally paid off. I’m also proud of Troy for moving up to 2nd in the standings. But the job’s not done yet, and we’ll be pushing just as hard at the season finale in November to secure that runner-up spot.”
