Eduardo Coseteng excited for ADAC GT Masters debut at Hockenheimring

New horizons for Filipino driver Eduardo Coseteng who is set to make his ADAC GT Masters debut this weekend. The 19-year-old will line up on the grid in Hockenheimring, Germany on the 9th to 11th of June behind the wheel of the #20 Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3.

Sharing his thoughts on his debut with a new team and in a new sports car racing series, Eduardo expressed, ”I’m mega excited. No expectations this weekend since I am very young for a GT3 driver and I am still learning.” He reaffirmed, however, how he will use his youth to his advantage saying, “I always strive to be at the front but I can take my time as I am still young, I will just get out there and give it my all.”

Eduardo is entering all 6 events of the ADAC GT Masters this year with Schubert Motorsport, racing alongside last year’s Pirelli Junior class champion Ben Green. The 2023 calendar will take them across renowned circuits in Germany and Austria. Eduardo commented on the race schedule saying, “Definitely a lot of points and experience to gain.”

His father, multiple-time touring car champion Jody Coseteng, introduced Eduardo to motorsports by bringing him along to his races. That’s where his passion for the sport developed that eventually led him to get into karting when he was just 8 years old. His talents led him to race wins and championships across the globe such as the ’19 Macau Karting GP and ’17 IAME Series Asia vice championship. In 2021, he made the move to single seaters, entering the British F4 Championship with Argenti Motorsport before transferring to Hitech GP in ’22, where he notched a win last October.

Sharing how he’s been preparing for the jump, Eduardo shard “It’s just the normal gym preparation and testing, working with the team, engineers and my teammate. I’ve been learning about the car and setups as well.” It will be much different for the young talent this time around as he furthers, “This weekend will be very different as it is my first GT3 race this season. I now have to work with a teammate on the same car and the race is an hour long compared to the 30 minute sprint in F4.”

The 2023 ADAC GT Masters kicks off at the “Festival of Dreams” in Hockenheimring. The schedule sees 2 Free Practice sessions on Friday (June 9) with the first Qualifying on Saturday morning (June 10) and Race 1 in the afternoon. Sunday’s (June 11) itinerary includes the second Qualifying session and then Race 2.

Eduardo Coseteng is supported by RSA Motors Libis, Petron Corporation, and Autoplus Sports.
