With only a few days to go ’til the Petron x Philippine Endurance Challenge (PEC), its organizers have now confirmed that 23 cars will be lining up on the grid this 12th of June 2018. The list is a mix of entries for the 4 Oras ng Pilipinas and 12 Hour Kalayaan Cup where several teams have opted to run both events.
Breaking down the field, 8 cars will be competing in the top-tier RP Class. Expect to see a re-match between the AutoPerformance Victor Hardware BMW M3 and PartsPro Racing Honda Civic EG who battled for the win in last year’s race. 6 have registered in FM-1, 4 in FM-2, and the biggest class in the field with 9 in FM-3.
There are also teams with multi-car entries. Team Shell Helix Ultra has entered 2 in RP Class and 1 in FM-3. Petron Blaze Racing – ToraTora, Team GT Radial, Team Cebu x M&M x MR Auto, and PartsPro then have 2 cars each.
(Note that several teams are competing in multiple categories, which is why the numbers don’t add up.)
Presented by Petron Corporation as the official fuel and oil partner, the race gets the green light at exactly 5:30 AM on June 12 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS). Teams solely running in the 4 Oras ng Pilipinas will get the chequered flag at 9:30 AM and be asked to enter the pit lane. Those in the 12 Hour Kalayaan Cup then continue ’til the race ends at 5:30 PM.
